Steroids Definition:

Lipids that are based on a tetracyclic ring system involving three six- membered rings and one five-membered ring. Cholesterol is an example.

Steroids Explained:

The organic compounds that have 4 rings of carbon atoms, in organics, they are classified as nonsaponifiable lipids. Steroids have many functions, such as; building, regulation of carbohydrate metabolism, and anti  inflammatory functions.
