Step-Growth Polymers

Step-Growth Polymers Definition:

Polymers that are formed under conditions in which the individual monomers react with each other to form oligomers, which are then joined together to form polymers.

Step-Growth Polymers Explained:

A growth reaction that takes place between bi-functional or multi-functional monomers where they form a high molecular weight polymer. Most of them are naturally synthesized and go through step by step polymerization such polymers are like; polyesters, urethane, and ployamides.
