Polarizability Definition:

The ability of an atom or molecule to distribute its electron density unevenly in response to external influences.

Polarizability Explained:

The measure of how easily an electron cloud can be distorted or changed by an electric field. This distortion in the electron cloud enables the non polar molecule to have a dipole moment where the charges differ.
