Molecular Ion Definition:

In mass spectrometry, the ion that is generated when the compound is ionized.

Molecular Ion Explained:

In an ionisation chamber of a mass spectrometer which is bombarded by electrons. These electrons are powerful enough to take out an electron from an organic molecule to form a positive Ion, this ion that is formed is a molecular ion.
